Laura Dubak has been an education professional for more than a decade. She served as Assistant Principal at Byram Hills High School and has specialized skills surrounding literacy, curriculum staff development, educational leadership and program development.
“We are so pleased to welcome Laura Dubak to Croton,” said Dr. Deborah O’Connell, Superintendent of Schools. “We know that she will be the perfect addition to our administrative team as we move forward with our mission and vision, continue to develop our Profile of a Graduate, and implement our Strategic Coherence Plan.”
Dubak will officially start her new position on July 1. The decision was made after a “lengthy” hiring process comprising community input, student and staff interviews, committee approval, Board of Education screening and more.
“Croton-Harmon High School is a place that seems to understand what they want their graduates to be. There’s a concentration not just on what they’re learning, but on how they’re learning,” said Dubak. “I’m excited to work in a place that does its best to expand student choices and encourages independent thinking. The school embodies everything we know about what really makes a student successful in college, and the community embraces those same ideals.”
